Welcome to the homepage of the Institute for Neuroanatomy!

We use model systems to study how the brain, especially the cerebral cortex – our most important “organ” for conscious perception of sensory stimuli, goal-directed behavior, learning and memory – is formed during embryogenesis, matures postnatally and adapts to all kinds of stimuli. Furthermore, we ask: What perturbances make neurons ill? This site gives you an overview of our activities. Please consult our publications or contact us directly, if you would like to know more about us.
